Summer Institute Celebrates 40th Anniversary Success

This year, Summer Institute celebrated its 40th anniversary at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois. In mid-July, twenty participants from across the Midwest were there to celebrate that achievement and attend professional development sessions to learn more about their profession.

While the participants had varying levels of experience-one year, two years and of course a few who were still in their first week, both participants and committee members gained a great deal in just three short days. The 2010 Summer Institute theme “There’s a map for that…” rang true as participants attended sessions that included relationship building, travel tips and the traditional mock college fair. Committee members and participants had the opportunity to connect and share their experiences during an opening BBQ, an evening jazz concert and a comedy show. All in all, Summer Institute was a huge success in its 40th year!
