IACAC is a professional association, not a political one. But human rights are not a political issue. Since its inception, our country has battled through many trials and horrors, but the history of violence and systemic racism against Black Americans is coming to a head and we must speak up unequivocally: Black Lives Matter. They matter to us personally and professionally.

IACAC leadership stands with our Black peers and will continue to champion the work of supporting equity and inclusion. We honor the rights of all Black Americans to live their full lives in freedom and in safety from violence and oppression in our communities, our schools, and on our campuses.

Finally, when we hear black voices, we must listen and act and be better allies. Those voices beg us to learn and grow. Because this is an essential component of IACAC, we are encouraging all members to follow this lead. Below are resources that have been recommended as helpful in understanding the complex issues facing our country during this especially difficult time. We are open to sharing additional resources and welcome your recommendations.
