Save the Date for the Annual Conference
The First Timers’ Luncheon at Conference 2012
By Mike Dunker
President-Elect and Annual Conference Chair
Mark your calendars so you don’t miss the 2013 IACAC Annual Conference. The conference will take place May 1st-3rd at the Westin Hotel in Itasca, with the theme “Strength Through Diversity- Many Hands Making a Difference.” New to the conference this year is the Project Reach 5K Run/Walk. This will take place around 5:30, Wednesday, May 1st, with all proceeds going directly to the Project Reach campaign. Jackie Camacho-Ruiz will be our keynote speaker this year. Jackie is a first generation college student who now owns a successful marketing firm at the young age of 26. You will find her to be a very engaging speaker! Also, Will Johnson, the Director of Student Diversity Programs at Fairfield University and the chairman of NACAC’s Inclusion, Access, and Success committee, will be on hand Friday morning to moderate a showing of the highly acclaimed film “First Generation.” The conference committees are working extremely hard to make this another successful event. There will be plenty of interesting and informative sessions to attend, fun-filled entertainment, and the opportunity to meet and mingle with hundreds of your outstanding peers. Don’t miss it!
